Arizona Youth Stem Initiative

Arizona Youth STEM Initiative (AYSI) ignites young minds with free, hands-on robotics, coding, and engineering experiences. In a state where 71 % of outreach students come from underserved schools, we reinvest every donation into expanding these programs and supporting partner charities so every child can envision—and build—a future in STEM.

As a nonprofit, AYSI uses VEX Robotics to give students hands‑on experience in engineering—designing, building, and programming real robots. Through structured workshops and guided projects, students reinforce core engineering concepts while improving critical problem‑solving and teamwork skills.

Future Goals

In the future, we hope to partner with Arizona schools and community organizations to integrate our VEX Robotics curriculum into after‑school and in‑classroom STEM programs. We also aim to raise funds for local nonprofits serving underprivileged communities—providing grants for robotics kits, scholarships for summer camps, and resources to ignite lasting interest in science and engineering.

Jason Kai

President, Co-founder

Hello my name is Jason! Ive spent three years of high school in competitive robotics, founding Team 2420A and gaining firsthand experience in engineering and problem-solving. I launched the Arizona Youth STEM Initiative (AYSI) to extend these same opportunities to students in underserved communities and help them explore STEM through hands-on learning.

Vice-President, Co-founder

Hi! My name is Aiden. I've had three incredibly enriching years in VEX Robotics with the team as a manager and organizer. I’ve learned to love teaching teams the various ins and outs of team administration and coordination.    I would love to help even more teams reach their fullest potentials with the help of 2 of my most trusted teammates.

Secretary, Co-founder

I've spent the last three years competing in VEX robotics, providing me with the best hands-on experience one could wish for. I want to be able provide the same opportunities I got to others to gain.
